Beverly Hills
Discover facial rejuvenation at its finest with a Beverly Hills Facelift with Dr. Daniel Gould.
Over the last 30 years, facelift surgery has fundamentally changed. With an increased understanding of the aging effects of skin and the role of volume loss in the face, today, surgeons place less emphasis on pulling the skin tight. Instead, they reposition soft tissues and the muscle below the skin to a more youthful position and restore volume with dermal fillers or fat transfer methods.
Dr. Daniel Gould is a board-certified facial surgeon with a Ph.D. in cellular bioengineering who has written numerous articles for well-respected aesthetic journals about evidence-based interventions for repairing tissue cells at the cellular level and preparing patients before and after surgery with methods for healing faster and yielding optimal results. During a consultation, he can explain the benefits of a Facelift in Beverly Hills and help you determine whether this treatment option is right for you.
Transformative Results
A facelift (rhytidectomy) is the removal of wrinkles; a deep plane facelift is far more than just wrinkle removal. A deep plane facelift is a process where Dr. Gould lifts and repositions your underlying facial muscles and skin for an overall rejuvenated appearance. Dr. Gould brings a unique blend of art, science, and anatomical technical innovations to his Beverly Hills Facelift surgeries for refreshed, natural-looking results.
Dr. Gould will discuss the procedure and various techniques involved during your consultation. Your facelift surgery is an outpatient procedure and takes about two to five hours to complete.
Dr. Gould uses deep plane facelift with the Crevasse Technique—a three-dimensional reset of the jawline for significant and transformative results. Dr. Gould describes his technique in textbooks and scientific articles by creating crisp jawlines for patients, which gives them an even better jawline than before. As a result, patients often see themselves looking ten to 15 years younger.
Restore Youthful Definition
When you desire a permanent solution to address sagging jowls, double chin, and vertical neck bands, a facelift is an ideal solution with long-lasting results. Many patients of all genders begin to consider a facelift in their 40s to 60 years of age. However, Dr. Gould will discuss all age reversal methods during your consultation. Facelift benefits include:
When you want significant change, a deep plane facelift is your best solution. Schedule your Facelift consultation with Dr. Gould to learn if you are an ideal candidate for a deep plane facelift.
Understanding and Preparing for Surgery
These three important factors determine if you are an ideal candidate for a facelift, which include:
During your consultation, Dr. Gould will review your medical history and determine if any pre-existing conditions may preclude you from surgery because of the risk of complications. It may be necessary to collaborate with your primary care provider or specialist to prepare for cosmetic surgery.
A facelift will not make you look like your favorite celebrity. It also does not change the appearance of your nose, eyes, chin, or lips because these features remain untouched during a Facelift. You can expect a natural, refreshed appearance that looks like you are only younger.
Smoking, vaping, or using nicotine products constricts blood flow and can slow your healing process. If you elect to have this surgery, Dr. Gould will advise you to quit using these products several weeks before surgery and to stop using them after surgery to maintain healthy results for your skin. In addition, you will need to stop taking any anti-inflammatory pain medications or herbal supplements that cause excessive bleeding and bruising.
It is mandated on day one for Dr. Gould’s post-op Facelift patients to receive Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment, which delivers 100% Oxygen at 2.5x the normal air pressure and feeds your tissues oxygen to reduce inflammation and swelling. In addition, the hyperbaric oxygen treatment significantly reduces brain fog and fatigue from the effects of anesthesia. Hyperbaric treatments have been clinically proven to improve healing and help improve early results. Be sure to let Dr. Gould know if you have inner ear issues, which can be pretreated with nasal decongestant spray, or claustrophobia, which can be improved with premedication.
Dr. Gould has authored several textbook chapters and scientific articles on the facelift (specifically, deep plane facelift). He has presented at several meetings on the topic and has taught residents and fellows at USC for several years. He was the youngest editorial board member brought on to the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and he contributes to plastic surgery in many societies and educational events. He is board-certified and fellowship-trained in cosmetic surgery and highly reviewed.
Beyond his excellent academic qualifications, he has a deep commitment to his patients, which stems from his upbringing. He grew up around medicine with a father that was a top pediatrician, and he believes in an old-school approach to medicine that is patient-centered and focused on outcomes. He is easy to talk to, doesn’t impose his concepts or beliefs, and firmly subscribes to the concept of the life-long doctor/patient relationship. Take a look at his before and afters and decide if you would like similar results. Dr. Gould does everything he can to give his patients the best Facelift Beverly Hills has to offer!

It is clinically proven that taking nutritional supplements before and after surgery promotes wound healing. Dr. Gould offers his surgical patients the following supplements:
It is essential for you to have support from a family member or friend to assist you during your recovery. Dr. Gould will provide post-operative instructions that are important to follow for optimal healing. Your swelling and bruising should significantly subside after your hyperbaric chamber treatment. It takes about three weeks to be ‘restaurant-ready,’ but you need to refrain from strenuous exercise for up to six weeks. Dr. Gould will help you maintain your refreshed appearance with skin rejuvenation treatment.

You are kept quite comfortable during surgery as you are under general anesthesia. The next day, Dr. Gould will have you undergo a hyperbaric treatment that delivers oxygen to your cells and have you receive a lymphatic massage to thwart additional swelling after surgery. Dr. Gould’s unique post-surgical treatments aid in rapid recovery to reduce pain and discomfort after surgery.
The two most common side effects from a Facelift include developing a hematoma—which is a build-up of blood under the skin and usually results from too much activity. Dr. Gould can drain the excess fluid with a syringe if this happens. The second common side effect is an infection at the incision sites. You will receive post-treatment instructions for caring for your incisions, including how to keep your face clean for optimal results. There are extremely rare risks of nerve injury, which is less than 0.9% in this technique. More commonly, swelling in the face and the muscles can interfere with muscle function and make your smile appear heavy for a few weeks as swelling subsides.
A facelift is a highly customized surgery. Therefore, the cost of the procedure will differ with each patient. During your consultation, Dr. Gould spends significant time listening to your facial and skin concerns, discussing your options, assessing and taking photos as needed, and devising a surgical treatment plan to meet your needs. The cost of your outpatient facelift surgery is discussed immediately after the consultation with Dr. Gould's coordinator.
A rhytidectomy (face lift) is a cosmetic facial rejuvenation procedure and is not covered by medical insurance. However, we offer payment and financing options for your convenience.
Each procedure targets the lower portion of your face to correct sagging skin, jowls, and volume loss in your cheeks. The deep plane facelift is a specialized approach that targets the deeper structures and resets the foundation of your facial fascia or connective tissue. Traditional facelifts pull that fascia or remove some of it, or more commonly, they simply tighten it in a vector and remove skin. Studies have shown a deep plane may have more longevity, but Dr. Gould does it because it looks more natural and less pulled or odd. It makes sense that redraping the fascia is better in concept than tightening it externally. These same concepts apply to the neck, and the Crevasse technique also improves your neck look.
During your consultation, Dr. Gould will discuss non-surgical options with you for you to consider—these include RF treatments, Morpheus8, Profound, FaceTite, as well as dermal fillers.
Your surgery is an outpatient procedure, which means you can return and recover at home with a home nurse, or you may choose to stay overnight in an aftercare facility to be available for an appointment the next day. In either case, you will need someone to drive you home and help you for the first 24-48 hours after surgery.
